Weekend Cookbook Challenge #8 - A Foreign Dish

Photo from Ruths amazing Indian Dinner.

First off, the world's biggest thanks to Ruth from Once Upon A Feast for co-hosting this month's challenge. Ruth came up with the creative idea of cooking a dish from another country and we got some amazing entries.

You can find Ruth's wonderful round up HERE.

If anyone out there is interested in co-hosting a challenge, or if you have an idea for a challenge, please email me at iliketocookATshawDOTca.

And on to Challenge Number 9! I thought that since Ruth took us on an exotic trip last time, that this time we would stay closer to home.

The theme for WCC #9 is to use an ingredient from your country's cuisine.

If you're stuck for an idea, why not use Google or Wikipedia for ideas?

Please email your post to me at iliketocookATshawDOTca (please note I'm not using gmail anymore) by October 1.

Cheers!

Sara and Ruth, thanks for a wonderful round-up and hosting this event. I always have so much fun cooking for the WCC. Looking forward to the next one, especially since October is the best month for lobster and scallops in New England.

Sara, thanks for the effort in the round up. The WCC is fun and I look forward to participating in the next one. when u say local ingredient, is it something available only in ur own country , so something local to where u are living?

Hi Shaheen, try to use an ingrediant that is popular where you live, or maybe even originated in your country. For example, Canada is known for maple syrup, and the province of Alberta, where I live, is well known for it's beef. Hope to see you at the next challenge!
