WCC 18 Round Up

Hey, thanks for coming to read the round up for Weekend Cookbook Challenge 18 - Red and White. We've got a great crowd this month and it looks like everyone had fun with the theme. I have to admit, I was a bit surprised - not a red pasta sauce in the bunch. Lots of great fruit though, it's that time of year! There's tons of tasty delights this month, so let's start with our first four yummy dishes...

Steph and a whisk and a spoon is back with us again and has prepared a treat near and dear to my heart, the Canadian favorite Nanaimo Bars.

Pamela, The Cooking Ninja contributes a lovely dish called Poivron rouges farcis à la Perpignanaise.

Nadiah from This is me, get over it takes part in her first WCC with this delicious looking Chicken Curry and Red Bell Pepper Raita.

Ani, last month's WCC host at Foodie Chickie did not find a friend in her Red Velvet Cupcakes.

Michelle, who is a regular contributor to WCC at Je Mange La Ville makes a vibrant red soup - Roasted Tomato and Paprika Soup from a book I just received as a gift from a wonderful friend.

Chocolate Moosey and Carla return to WCC with these totally yummy Greek Stuffed Shells.

Katie of Other People's Food has red on the brain too with her Beet Ravioli with Poppy Seed Butter.

Paula, aka The Cookbook Junkie has made one of my favorite things - Balsamic Red Pepper Jelly.

Eunice from Lemon Almond has an impressive Lychee Martini Sorbet. Perfect for this hot weather.

Saffron and Blueberry and Hilda are here with some pretty Strawberry-ChocoLemon-Cardamom Tartlets.

Here's Marta, another former WCC hostess. This Italian in the US brings us two drinks with the red and white theme - Tequila Sunrise and Horchata.

Chrispy is back! From Experimentation of Taste take a look at this Raspberry Tart.

Mary from the beautiful site alpineberry joins WCC for the first time. Please drool over her Cherry Frangipane Galette.

My favorite guy in the kitchen is back. From Winter Skies, Kitchen Aglow here's Shaun and his impressive Pan-Fried Chicken Thighs with a Fennel Seed Crust and Sweet Cherry Compote.

Jerry from Food and Photo takes part with a Blueberry Cream Pie from a cookbook with a red cover.

Also new to WCC this month is Jenn and No Lemon Juice. Jenn made some mouth watering Streusel Raspberry Muffins. Yum.

Ulrike, our friend from Kuchenlatein is back with a Red Currant Tray Cake.

Sarina from TriniGourmet is another newbie this month. She's used Chile powder in her Easy Hot Spiced Mexican Chocolate.

Here's Kelly from Sass and Veracity with a dramatically looking and named Biscuit Glace aux Noisettes.

Haalo is back with us again this month. From Cook Almost Anything at Least Once here's her Baked Raspberry Cheesecake.

And here's my beautiful Rhubarb Strawberry Fool. After tasting this, I am now a fool for fools!

Thank you thank you to all of you who joined me this month. And thanks to those of you who've stopped by to read this. Why don't you get in the kitchen and join us next month?

Speaking of next month, Paige from Chef Girl will be hosting for August. Paige has chosen a super theme - Dinner and a DVD.
