Weekend Cookbook Challenge 20 Round Up

A big thanks to all of you who took part in Weekend Cookbook Challenge #20 - Show and Tell. We've got a wonderful mix of new and old faces. Let's get started right away with....

Catherine from $40 a Week. Catherine chose a recipe from Sweet Potato Queen's Big Ass Cookbook (And Financial Planner). This recipe cracks me up........and I really want to try it. Here's Love Lard - basically bread, mushroom soup, and bacon. God, doesn't that sound fantastic???

Next up is Ruth from Once Upon a Feast and I am so glad to see her back! Ruth's chosen book is called Inn on the Twenty Cookbook and she made a Blueberry Minted Custard Tart. Delicious!

Marta, An Italian in the US also returns to WCC this month with two beautiful dishes. From the book In Nonnas Kitchen, Marta prepared 'Torta di porri e zucca' (Leek and Butternut squash tart) , and 'Crostini con le fave' (Crostini with pureed fava beans).

Here's another new face - Alex and The Princess and the Recipe. Alex chose a recipe from Kylie Kwong's Simple Chinese Cooking. Here's her Soy Sauce Eggs.

And yet another new fact this month is Cherrapeno and Nicisme. Nicisme made these delicious Chocolate Caramel Nuggets from The Cookie and Biscuit Bible. I wouldn't mind one of these and a cup of tea right about now.

I am always so happy when Shaun stops in at WCC. For WCC this month Winter Skies, Kitchen Aglow is sharing with us the book I Love Crab Cakes and made Chesapeake Bay Classic Crab Cakes with Spicy Remoulade Sauce.

Eunice and Lemon Almond join me again this month. Eunice has baked from Heirloom Baking with the Brass Sisters. Check out these yummy Dutch Apple Cake Muffins.

Next up: another new WCC contributor - Valli and More Than Burnt Toast. Valli was lucky enough to take a trip to Greece last year. From the cookbook The Foods of the Greek Islands, Cooking and Culture at the Crossroads of the Mediterranean, here are some scrumptious Tiganopita me Feta (Feta Cheese Pancakes).

Regular Weekend Cookbook Challenge contributor Michelle from Je Mange La Ville is back with a recipe from The Farmhouse Cookbook. I am very intrigued by this dish, Becky Campbells's Chicken with Carambola.

Check out this delicious looking blog - Cara's Cravings. Cara cooked this Creamy Shrimp and Rice from a book called Pumpkin.

Baking Strong Black Pumpernickel bread from the cookbook Great Breads, here's Jai and Bee from Jugalbandi. Welcome to WCC!

I am so jealous of Carla from Chocolate Moosey and her recent score of 12 cookbooks! She used one of them, Greene on Greens, and whipped up a yummy dish - Kate's Panfried Summer Squash.

From the divine Laura Rebecca's Kitchen, here's Laura with Anisette Toast from Entertaining with the Sopranos.

My darling friend Lis from La Mia Cucina actually sent me her post before the deadline! It truly is a miracle. ;P Just kidding! Lis shares this awesome looking recipe for Maple Almond Granola from Food to Live By. Yum!

I'm glad to see that my friend Mike from Mel's Diner is becoming a regular contributor to WCC! Mike shares salsa with us from his most used cookbook, The Fannie Farmer Cookbook.

Judith stayed up far too late to send me her WCC post, but I'm glad she did! Using a cookbook called Mourir de Chocolat (Death by Chocolate) bought in Paris, Judith and Shortcut to Mushrooms whips up a glorious plate of truffles.

And moi, I made some Coconut Shrimp Lollypops from Surreal Gourmet Bites: Showstoppers and Conversation Starters.

Yum! Thanks again to all of you who took part this month, and those of you who stopped by to read.

Challenge 21 will be hosted by Michelle from Je Mange La Ville and she has chosen a spooooky theme - Halloween! So get your witchy (or wizardy) post to her by October 21. Michelle's email is mlb at jemangelaville dot com.
